I have scorched the net trying to find a nice looking, comfortable, reasonably priced WAV that I can sit up front in. Man, have I failed!
That sitting up front requirement rules out, oooh, 90% of the WAV market, which is clearly designed for the ferrying about of helpless dependent people by others in totally non sexy vehicles. PLUS, they think they are doing you a favour! ‘This is the expensive, badly made rubbish I am selling – take it or leave it.’ Well, thanks for that; I think I’ll pass…(like you care…)
HELLO, out there… Some of us have a real life, with partners, mates…you know, like yours. Would you want to travel in a huge thirsty ugly vehicle around town, screaming to your partner from the back? No? Me neither.
I am reduced to so few choices:
- Volkswagon Caravelle/T5 – a wheelchair users Winnebago
- Renault Kangoo – a wheelchair users shopping trolley
- Suzuki something – the wheelchair users reliant robin
- Fiat Multipla – I am in trouble, this is starting to look quirkily stylish to me!
- Kia Sedona – never seen one, a Voyager lite?
- Chrysler Grand Voyager – pretentious wheelchair users Ferrari
There may be one or two more but, believe me, nothing better. If I say the cheapest of these is about £25k, the most expensive closer to £55k and my tastes incline me to a Mercedes Sports, you will understand the extent of my dissatisfaction with this market. Style, value for money, convenience, comfort… OK, I tried the Chrysler first… pretentious, moi?
