Following the year of hell and my problems transferring into our car, we started looking at our transport options. Current position:
Objective: We think we need a WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) that's easy to handle; that other people, maybe even me, are able to drive. How hard can this be? I am seeing a black Mercedes ML500, tinted windows, adapted for me and my wheelchair – nice! Ohmigod! We are living in the dark ages. Consumerism and WAVs have barely been introduced to one another and the concept of value for money? No, no, not registering on this radar screen… I am in despair. On what planet does every wheelchair user want to be carted around in the back of a ghastly monstrosity? Is there some wheelchair to brain connection that requires us to desire a massive van or the equivalent of a tin can on wheels AND pay double the price for it? There must be more available than this….more research needed urgently…help me please... |
