I spent several hours and paid a hefty financial penalty to get on the next days flight – ouch! EaZyD shouted at Orange who were most unhelpful and switched his SIM card off with no replacement for up to two weeks! We went out to eat locally that night to a chorus of ‘aren’t you supposed to be in...?’ We got up the next day and are just leaving when, lo! EaZyD – ‘where is my head?’ - finds his mobile in one of the bags from yesterday. Another forty five minutes on the phone to Orange to get the SIM card back on (using our land line because EaZyD lost my mobile last time I was in hospital when he dropped and broke his mobile so took mine – come on, keep up!) and whaddya know – we’re late again...
I could go on but life is just too short. I can feel myself losing the will to live as I type each word and, let face it, the trip can only be an anti-climax after that! We got back from the States yesterday where we had lots of fun. We saw lots of films in Atlanta then, in NY, ate at Per Se and Asiate, went to MoMA and Dizzys (accessible jazz club – yay!) and did a bit of shopping too. Holiday tips: from ME – have you actually read this?
MEMO to BA: I do not appreciate your staff trying to forcibly take control of my wheelchair whilst I am sitting in it. We are happy to discuss, and grateful to accept, help when sometimes needed. We live with my condition every day, your staff do not, and, however well trained, cannot possibly be as concerned for my safety as we are. Respect that please!
