OK, a few months have passed…
I have a pair of functional, beautifully made black court shoes, with very pretty emerald green inner soles. The shoes fit, do not rub and do not fall off my feet. They seem very robust and sturdy.
You just know that is not enough, don't you? What went wrong?
Sadly, the design aesthetic, that was sorely missing, was never found. My shoes look like a pair of black court shoes from some high street store for someone with very wide feet. Which is well and dandy if they were from said high street store. They are not!
I am just so upset that for so much time and money, so little effort was made to provide shoes that have a design aesthetic to match the very evident workmanship lavished upon them.
EaZyD said, ‘anyone who knows anything about shoes will know instantly that these are beautifully made.’ And, anyone who knows anything about style will know instantly that these shoes have none!
Has the consumer revolution completely bypassed the world of specialist footwear? It would seem, despite my best efforts, that it has. I am so disappointed albeit well shod.
